With everything going on in the world
lately, there is a lot to worry about. Hurricane Katrina destroyed New Orleans
dislocating many thousands of people, Hurricane Rita damaged a large section of
Texas dislocating many more people, an Earthquake in Pakistan and India killed a
whole generation of children in one area, there have been floods, fires and
there is more to come.
As humans, what do we do when a disaster occurs? We worry. We worry about the
people involved in these disasters, we worry if we will be involved in a
disaster, we worry how it will affect us and those we love, etc.
Worry is prayer for what you don't want. When you worry, you are praying for the
thing you are worrying about to happen. Worry is one of the most useless
emotions there is.
What we must learn is to imitate the animals. When disaster strikes, the animals
move out of harms way and return to the business of surviving. They do not worry
about what will happen next. They do not worry about finding food. They just do
what needs to be done to continue living.
Let's learn to imitate the animals. Today, we are alive. Today, we have a place
to live and food to eat. Today our needs are being met. Live a life of "today's"
instead a life of "tomorrows".
