How many of us are able to value ourselves?
How many of us pat ourselves on the back when we do something
well? How many of us actually value ourselves? Not many.
We are taught that it is vain to praise ourselves. We have a
big ego if we tell others that we are good at something. These
teachings keep us stuck and prevent us from succeeding. It is
okay for us to complain about not having enough money to pay
bills, but if we are doing really well financially, we hide
that fact and tell no one because we are afraid of being
thought of as having a big ego.
What is it that you are good at? Do you congratulate yourself
for being good at it? Or do you belittle it and make it
nothing? Instead of looking to others to tell you that you
have done well, pat yourself on the back and boost your own
self-esteem. Don't wait for others to boost it for you,
because it probably will never happen.
This is a lesson I have learned without realizing that I
learned it. When I do a Psychic Reading for someone and later
they write and tell me how accurate my insight turned out to
be, I pat myself on the back and congratulate myself on being
so accurate. (Of course there are times that I am totally off,
but I do not put myself down for being wrong.) When I do a
healing session with someone and they are better for it, I
praise myself for doing a good job. When I have really good
sales on my websites, I congratulate myself for the good work.
I do not wait for someone else to tell me that I did a good
job. I do not rely on others to boost my self-esteem. I boost
my own.
If I talk to someone who mentions wanting a web page, I do not
hesitate to tell them how good I am at designing websites and
attempting to sell myself. If they decide to spend the money
to hire someone in the future, they will remember that and
look me up.
Learn to boost your own self-esteem. Pat yourself on the back
for your successes. Be proud of the things you are good at and
make no excuses for being better than someone else. You will
be a better person for it.
