As many of you know, my daughter Samantha made her transition to spirit a couple of years ago. She has taught us beyond a shadow of a doubt that life does go on.
Several months after Samantha made her transition, she created a new game to play with me. One day, I went in to take a shower. I was relaxing in the stream of hot water when the smoke alarm began blaring through the house, frightening me.
I got out of the shower dripping water and looked for a chair I could use to reach the smoke alarm and turn it off. I climbed up on the chair, but before I could push the reset button, the alarm stopped.
The next day, I had just gotten the shampoo lathered into my hair, when the smoke alarm started blaring again. I rinsed the shampoo out of my eyes and got out of the shower to turn it off. Again, the alarm stopped before I could turn it off.
When it happened again the next day, I knew it had to be Samantha playing with me. She had always been mischievous, and that had not changed at all.
It became normal for the smoke alarm to blare the whole time I was in the shower and stop as soon as I got out of the shower. I attempted to ignore the alarm, but it is really hard to enjoy a shower with a smoke alarm blaring.
This game with the smoke alarm continued for several months. Finally, I bought a new smoke alarm which she has not yet learned to turn on.
I can now take showers in peace again.
