I have been in contact with a young man
from Rwanda, Lambert, who wants to come to the US so he can
have a better life. His whole family was killed in the
genocide of the 1990's and he has been living in an
orphanage ever since. He really wants a
chance for a better life than he can ever have in Rwanda. Though he is in
college, there is no future for him there. My
heart goes out to this young man and I really want to help him. I am very
willing to take him into my family so that he will no longer be alone.
In checking on the immigration process, it is very expensive. The forms which
have to be filled out and processed cost around $3000. A flight from Rwanda to
Texas will probably be another $3000. There is no way I can afford to do this
myself. I am trying to get donations from any place that will
help, including local churches. I hope you can find it in your heart to help
Lambert to be able to come to the US.
