One teaching in the Metaphysical community is the importance
of getting in touch with our Higher Self. We are taught that our Higher Self
will assist us in acquiring money, happiness, possessions, etc. In actuality,
our Higher Self is only concerned with our life lessons. Our Higher Self keeps
us on our path, shows us our life mission, brings lessons to us that we need to
learn, etc. By concentrating on our connection to our Higher Selves, we bring
lessons to us more quickly. Our Higher Self takes this as a sign that we are
ready to move more quickly through our lessons. How many of us have had our
lives become chaotic after working on our connection to our Higher Selves?
In reality it is our Inner Children that we need to connect with. Many of us
have totally ignored our Inner Children, pushed them aside, abused them. But, it
is our Inner Children who would do anything to help us get a new car, a new
house, a good book, whatever you can conceive of. Feel how excited your Inner
Children get when you think
of getting something new, or doing something fun. This is the energy needed to
manifest what we want.
Let's imagine that you have asked your Higher Self to help you to get your dream
car. Your Higher Self says "Ok, but lets learn a lesson about appreciating what
we have at the same time." Ouch, lesson time.
Now, imagine asking your Inner Children to help you manifest your dream car.
They start jumping up and down in excitement, looking for the means to make it
happen. No lessons, just joy.
So instead of asking your Higher Self to help you find your perfect mate, ask
your Inner Children to help and see how much quicker and easier it happens.
