I have heard stories many times of stones which change - they develop rainbows, become dull, etc. I have not personally experienced a stone changing until recently.

I love Rainbow Moonstone. It is one of my very favorite stones. I have jewelry made of it, I have tumbled stones and beads. About a year ago, I bought a Rainbow Moonstone Sphere on Ebay. When I received it, it was dull and I could not find the blue flash that makes it a Rainbow Moonstone. I tried looking at it in sunlight, searching all over for these flashes I had decided that I had been taken and it was actually Moonstone instead of Rainbow Moonstone.

Recently, I found another Rainbow Moonstone Sphere on Ebay. The picture showed a large blue flash. I managed to win the auction and eagerly awaited the gorgeous sphere. My plan was to sell the first sphere and get back the money I had paid on it.

When I received the new sphere, it was just as beautiful as it had been in the picture. It had flashes of blue light all around the sphere. I went to put it on the shelf beside the other Rainbow Moonstone Sphere when I noticed that the original sphere was flashing at me! I picked it up and could not believe all the gorgeous flashes on it. They were everywhere! Where I had been unable to find a flash anywhere for the last year, flashes now are covering every part of the sphere!

The Rainbow Moonstone Sphere made sure that I would not sell it and it would not be replaced. It looks more beautiful every day and sits very happily beside the newer, smaller, less flashy sphere.
