To me, using candles in magick is a form of concentrated prayer. You
put
your prayer or desire into the candle and as it burns, the prayer is sent
continuously to Spirit. I prefer using the 7 Day candles because I
feel
that this sends continuous prayer for 5 to 7 days. There is no way I
can
pray continuously for that time. To me, this is very powerful.
To use the 7 Day candles, you write your desire on a piece of paper (some
people prefer to use parchment paper and special inks) to place under the
candle. You must be VERY specific about what you want. If you
are trying
to manifest a new job, you would be specific about the kind of job you
want,
the hours, working conditions, pay, etc. Be very careful however not
to
limit yourself, if you only ask for $10 an hour, that is all you will get.
You should ask for 'at least' $10 leaving an opening for more.
After you have done this, put the appropriate oil or oils into the candle.
Then hold the candle in front of your heart and put energy into the candle
for what you want. Visualize yourself having your desire - how would
it
feel? What would it taste like? What would you do? - get all your
emotions
involved. When you can see, feel, touch and taste yourself having
it, it is
time to light the candle. It is very important not to allow any
doubt to
enter as you are doing this, or you will fill the candle with the wrong
energy and it will not manifest.
Find a safe place to burn the candle where it will not be disturbed for
the
time it burns. DO NOT PUT THE CANDLE OUT. If you are concerned
about the
candle breaking or falling over, you can place it in a metal pan to
contain
it. Be sure that it is not near anything flammable such as curtains.
Place the candle on top of the piece of paper and light it. Allow it
to
burn until it goes out on it's own. If it goes out before it is all
burned,
light it again. It is best to put the candle where others will not
see it
and put their negative energy into it. This is especially important
when
others do not believe as you do.
