Beautiful Being That You Are

We have not been taught to love ourselves. Instead, we are taught that rather than the wonderful beings that we truly are, that we are Beautiful Being That You Are by Claudia McNeely ‘less than‘. If we are energetic and boisterous, we are made to be calm even if it takes medication to calm us. We are taught that we are not good enough as we are and that we need to change ourselves to be acceptable.

Many people spend their lives trying to prove that they have value. They interpret this a meaning that they have to be better than others, that they have to have more friends than others, that they need to be more special. In reality, they feel they are none of those things. They feel like a failure, that they are not loved, that no one cares about them.

When we can truly love ourselves and see ourselves as the beautiful being that we really are, then it does not matter what others think. We KNOW. We don’t need anyone else to validate us. We validate ourselves.

In reality, very few of the thoughts or beliefs that we have are actually our own. Instead, they belong to our parents, our friends or our coworkers. We empathically pick up these thoughts and accept them as our own, when in reality they are not.

By accepting these thoughts and feelings as your own, you feel that there is something wrong with you, with your life.

You may suddenly begin to worry about your business, though you are actually doing very well. If you ask who the feeling actually belongs to, you may find it belongs to your best friend instead.

When you find a feeling or thought that is not yours, return it to it’s origin (which may be centuries ago). Allow it to return to where it began so you can be free of it and it’s affect on your life.

Most of all, be kind to yourself. Love yourself. Know that you are an amazing being who is special just as you are.

How are you honoring your beauty?
